This is the last thing to do: changing the textures of the OPT to fit the new craft.
The tool you need to do this is the Texture Extractor EXTRACT from Michael Andersen. It enables you to extract textures (including the palette!) to Windows BMP format for editing, and even reinsert the changed data into the OPT.
Just launch EXTRACT.EXE, give OPT file name and
hit "4" to extract all textures to BMP files. Give a unique name (up to 6 letters) e.g. "gal" ant the program will extract the textures to files named "gal0.bmp" up to "gal25.bmp" (in case of my opt).
load the files as needed and edit them with your graphic editor.
The picture below shows the original texture bitmaps (thumbnails) and some edited copies (marked by the "a" after the number).
Last step: run EXTRACT again to insert the edited textures (hit "3" to insert bmp"). Type the file nam (e.g. "gal23.bmp") and the texture name (in this case "Tex00023" - allways "Tex" followed by some zeroes and the given number, in all five digits).
